Building Affordable Alaskan Dreams

About Stitt Construction

For generations, my family has been in construction with a devotion to quality and craftsmanship that stretches back to my great-grandfather’s timber framing days in Michigan. I moved to Alaska in 2003, where it has been my pleasure to call home ever since. I’ve been building traditional homes up here for the past 10, going on 11 years. Through my experience, I’ve learned what makes quality homes built specifically for Alaska.

In recent years, I’ve seen the housing market making it challenging for many to have a place that is uniquely theirs. The high costs and fluctuating interest rates put people into undesirable situations or leave them priced out entirely.

That’s why I started Stitt Construction. Everyone deserves a comfortable, affordable place to call home, especially in Alaska’s unique climate. Whether you're looking for a starter home, next home, or are just downsizing, our tiny homes are ready. That’s where our focus on high-quality tiny homes comes in.

We don’t just build standard tiny homes — we build them to withstand Alaska’s coldest lows and breathe during the warmest months. Our tiny homes are built to last a lifetime, exceeding code requirements and allowing you to secure bank financing, unlike many prefabricated options on the market.

With over 10 years of experience building traditional homes across Alaska, from Homer to Soldotna, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for what makes a quality Alaskan home. At Stitt Construction, we’re passionate about using our expertise to create beautiful and durable tiny homes that fit your budget and lifestyle.

A Stitt tiny home is not just a tiny home; it is a true home with all the comfort and functionality you deserve.

About Michael Stitt

Hello! I’m Michael Stitt, owner of Stitt Construction. I was born and raised in Michigan before moving to Alaska in 2003. Since then, it has been my pleasure to call this great state home.

I come from a line of builders dating back to my great-grandfather when the Stitt family first started timber framing and restoring buildings across Michigan. My father passed his many years of experience onto me and my two brothers, who are now active members of the family business in Michigan.

I’ve cultivated extensive knowledge through eight decades of family expertise and hands–on practice. Not only do I strive for excellence in every build, but every job is backed by honesty and faith.

We’re proud to be a family-run business and plan to keep it that way. No matter what we’re building, our goal remains the same: to ensure each customer is completely satisfied with the final product.
